Transcription Global office Preston

We told you recently that Transcription Global will soon be making an exciting announcement, but to tide you over until then we thought we’d tell you about some of our other news.

This week we welcomed two new members of staff to Transcription Global Towers: Ruth and Kamila. Both have joined our growing team of linguists and will be diving head first into the busy job of producing translations. Kamila and Ruth are both amazing linguists and between them can speak Russian, Polish, German and French.

As her first week at Transcription Global draws to a close, we asked Ruth, who hails from Widnes, to share her experience with us.

I started at Transcription Global on Monday and there’s certainly been plenty to learn. Luckily I love project management, which is what attracted me to this job, so I am really enjoying the challenge of working as a translator here.

I studied a Masters in Translating in French and German at Salford University and project management was the part of the course I enjoyed the most. The skills I learnt there have certainly been useful during my first week working for Transcription Global. It’s a very different job from my last one: working as a teaching assistant at a school in a village near Salzburg, Austria. That part of the world is so beautiful and I loved the time I spent there.

Everyone in the office has been so welcoming and I feel I have slotted in easily. I really enjoy the variety of work I get. It makes a change from university, where I had to spend weeks translating articles about motorcycles!

When I’m not scribbling away producing a translation, I can be found either shopping, curled up with a good book or learning how to round-house kick. Yes – I go to a body combat class, but it’s not as lethal as it sounds!

We’re sure Ruth is going to love working at Transcription Global, and we’re certainly going to enjoy learning a few Jackie Chan-style moves from her!

Please join us in giving Ruth and Kamila a big welcome.
